The search for international health...
The search for international health insurance was rather daunting. After comparing many different options, CIGNA global appeared to be the best fit for my husband and I, as we are both retired and senior citizens. Our customer service representative was professional, patient, and very easy to talk to. We received prompt replies to every communication. I am very grateful for CIGNA and highly recommend it!

FAQs

Perhaps you’re preparing to start your new life abroad, and move to your chosen destination.

You might be retiring overseas, relocating for work or moving closer to family. If so, our medical insurance can provide important cover and support for senior citizens and their families.

As a foreign national, you may not be entitled to free or subsidized healthcare. Some countries may also require expats to have health insurance in place. That’s where we can help.

In some nations, such as the USA, health insurance may be heavily encouraged. The quality of local services may vary depending on your location, in countries such as India. We can assist in finding the best treatment and care.

If you’re worrying about understanding the language, or struggling with any local regulations, we’ll look to provide the help you need – with support available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our health insurance plans aim to provide peace of mind for international senior citizens – whether covering you for routine check-ups, preventative care or emergencies.

We understand how stressful it could be if you’re taken ill in a country you’ve relocated to. That’s why we’re here to support you with anything you need.

Travel medical insurance and international health insurance can both be purchased for senior citizens spending time away from their home country. However, while travel insurance tends to cover treatment when you’re temporarily visiting another nation, international health insurance provides cover for those relocating to another country for a longer period. For example, if you’re retiring abroad.

A comprehensive healthcare insurance policy can help provide important peace of mind for senior citizens. It could provide support should you require treatment abroad, cover you for any hospital and prescription bills, help you navigate local healthcare systems and even get you back to your country of origin in the event of an emergency.

The best health insurance for senior citizens will offer protection that covers your own personalized needs, taking into account pre-existing conditions specific to your medical history. Whatever you choose, try to tailor a policy that takes into account any likely issues – and offers peace of mind for whatever the future holds.

At Cigna, we ask that you declare any pre-existing medical conditions when you apply. These include chronic illnesses like cancer, diabetes and epilepsy, and may also include some mental health conditions such as depression. We’ll also ask you to declare less severe conditions like asthma or sleep apnea.

At Cigna, we’re passionate about making things simple. You can’t control when and where illness might happen, so we want to take out as much stress from any health issues as we can.

Where possible, we will look to pay healthcare providers direct for you.  Please try and call us before seeking any treatment, so we can make sure you’re covered.

Our medical insurance plans offer professional healthcare support and advice for senior citizens. This includes helping you find suitable doctors, hospitals and clinics near you.
